Chocolate surprise
each morning you’d wake
Hoping that today
Christmas would be here.
Rousing with excitement
it made you shake,
Intrigued by the
magic that caused such fear.
Swallowed in the
stilled shadows you did lay
Thereupon the
window you could just see
Mass amounts of
fairy lights on display.
Anxiously you’d
wait with a sense of glee
Starry-eyed you’d
lay as the rest did sleep
Mindful of how slowly
the time passed by
Awakening the
whole house as you did creep
Greeted by
glorious gifts piled so high
In the minds of children,
it is not gone,
Come each year
they prove the magic lives on.
