From an early age I have always been interested in the way computers work and how they have evolved in the past few decades. having come from a background in Afghanistan where computers were seen as machines of the future and then using them on a daily basis in college was a dream come true. The world of computers is growing at un-recordable rate day by day; computersare the most powerful tools in our life, and they are our present and future. In my opinion, nothing on the planet can measure the exponential growth and enjoyment in the computing industry, which is why I want to be a part of it, particularly Software Development. My goal is to be part of a team who creates worthwhile, effective and useful software for their customers. The software development course is exactly what will help me become a part of such a team as it will equip me the relevant skills and knowledge needed to fulfill the customer’s needs.Currently I’m studying a level 3 software Development course which has been very helpful as it gives me a foundation into the degree course itself. I am also studying GCSE Maths, which is very important to my selected career because it’s a common language which is used by everything, and is very involved with computers. I enjoy number work, so an understandable choice at Level 3 was accountancy; although I find this subject less challenging than others,it’s still interesting and fun, but it doesn’t grip me like computing and is not a direct career choice.I am sure to learn more in the field of software, design and to build web pages, software for different kinds computer systems. I am hard working and currently working at a supermarket where I manage a big team; we each depend on each other to meet deadlines as it’s quite a demanding job. My role consists of making sure the customer is provided with exceptional service. I have to also carry out daily routine checks such as hygiene, making sure all workers are in uniform as well as other maintenance checks. The job has given me a big insightin to the demands of working life by equipping me with a great deal of customer service skills and knowledge. Being a part of the Afghan Education Centre Leeds has made me become more understanding of others and it has made me realize how fortunate I was for having all that I have.My hobbies include cricket, gym, reading books or looking into the future of software engineering, as well as going out with friends. I believe it’s very important to keep yourself fit and healthy in order to maintain a happy and balanced life. Family and friends are also very important to me as I come from cultural background where the development and maintenance of bonds of family and friendship are key to a successful life. I have always had the benefit of having people that could rely on me or I rely on them. I have also travelled around many places across the world such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Dubai, turkey, Qatar and Norway. One of my favourite destinations was a remote place located in Pakistan, it holds a unique festival for the group of people known as kelash. They speak a completely different language to what you would normally expect in Pakistan. It is home to a unique group of people who have a culture and tradition like no other.
